Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve

New Year 2017 saw a hive of activity at Teifi Marsh, Cardigan installing two bespoke bird hides at one of the best wetland reserves in Wales! The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales chose to team up with Green Future Building - a repeat customer. The Welsh Wildlife Centre, Cardigan www.welshwildlife.org wrote: ” The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales has a good working relationship with Green Future Building. We choose to employ GFB’s services as their ethos is something the Trust admires and actively supports. They are a not for profit social enterprise and committed to environmental conservation, promoting the use of sustainable building techniques and continuing to develop the use of recycled and sustainable materials. There is no other organisation that the Trust has found to be as accommodating and competitive in price … “ “In January 2017 there has been a hive of activity out on the Wetland Trail at Teifi Marsh as we have been installing two brand new bird hides! The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales have teamed up with Green Future Building.” “GFB, staff and volunteers have been working hard over the last two weeks to install the hides which will be open to the public soon. “The old hides on the nature reserve had suffered from vandalism and one hide was sadly burnt down in 2015. The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales managed to raise enough funds for the project in 2016 and since then teamed up with Green Future Building to design & build the new hides. “The hides on the main cycle track between Cardigan and Cilgerran have been built from fire-retardant materials and are designed to be much more robust than a basic wooden bird hide. The outer appearance of the hides will soften over time and the Wildlife Trust will be working with a local graffiti artist to come up with a plan to decorate the inner walls. “We’re so pleased and excited to have these two brand new hides on site for everyone to enjoy. It’s taken a lot of fundraising and a lot of hard work to get to this point. “We couldn’t have done any of this without the help of our fantastic dedicated volunteers, we would like to thank them for their hard work and also give a huge thank you to everyone who generously donated to help us fund the project: The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales – WTSWW, Oak Tree Cottage – The Cwtch, The Best of Cardigan & Teifi Valley, The Best of Pembrokeshire, Visit Cardigan, Visit Pembrokeshire, #WildlifeAdventures and #TheLCF“ Reproduced from: Facebook @WelshWildlifeCentre Exterior video (Facebook @GreenFutureBuilding) Interior video (Facebook @GreenFutureBuilding)
